4th of July Knot Wreath

I've been looking for some kind of 4th of July decor that I could make. I thought of doing something that I can put on my mantle, but not as many people will see my mantle as will see the front door. So, a wreath it is! And I am soooo pleased with how this wreath turned out!

This project requires very few supplies: various fabrics of your
choice (I used 6 different fabrics that I purchased
at Hob Lob), a wreath and scissors.

I just LOVE this Pledge of Allegiance fabric!!

Start by cutting the fabric into strips. I cut mine into strips about an inch in width and about 10" - 12" in length. Length is going to depend on what size wreath you purchase. Once you've cut the fabric in strips, start tying the strips onto the wreath. I alternated fabric patterns, but in no particular order so it would be random.

Make sure to tie the strips close together to make
sure that the wreath doesn't show through. Once
you are done tying strips of fabric on the wreath,
hang it up and enjoy!

While we're getting ready to celebrate our country's Independence Day, please remember all of the men and women who are fighting for our freedom. Take the time to thank a soldier (or two or three!). And say a prayer for those who are still overseas. I am so thankful to live in a country where I can freely worship my Savior! God bless the USA :)

If I am your princess, then daddy, you are the king of the world...

Happy Happy Father's Day to my very special daddy!! Daddy, you mean the world to me. I have always been the token daddy's girl. I'm still convinced that my daddy hung the moon! He was the first man in my life and the first man I gave my heart to! And I will always be his little girl, even if I'm not so little anymore! He is the most caring, supportive and loving daddy a girl could ask for. He is always there for me. No matter what. And, daddy, I love you with all of my heart. And yes, I'm pushing 26 years old and still call him daddy. :)

Dancing with my daddy at my wedding.

Well... Here I am again, asking for your prayers....

1) My daddy had another doctor's appointment on Wednesday and they found a 2nd spot on his right lung. They are unsure what the spot is and whether or not it benign. They are sending him to talk with a surgeon sometime in the next week or so to determine if he will need to have half (if not all) of his lung removed. At this point they are thinking that whatever is in his lung is contained to just those two spots, but removing part or all of his lung, will nix the chance that it could spread. This is prayer request number one. Prayer for guidance for the doctors. That they will make the right decision.

2) My daddy is having a really hard time hearing this and is taking out his sadness, anger and frustration (and what I can't help to believe is pure terror) on my sweet mom. My mom is scared and sad too. But due to my dad's frustration, he's saying that he doesn't want to see the surgeon and doesn't want to go through with any surgeries. Please pray for his attitude. Pray for a change of heart and pray that he can see that we all love him so much and just want him to be healthy. I want my daddy to be around for a long long time.

**Disclaimer** All prayers are much appreciated, but if you know my dad, please do not mention any of this to him. He's taking this really hard and didn't even want my mom to tell me about all of this. He was quite upset that I told people the first time around, but I don't know what else to do but to ask for prayers. I know how the power of prayer works. I know that we serve a mighty God, a God that works miracles, a God that sees the prayers of His children, a God that loves and cares for us.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. Psalm 28:7a

I leave you with this video of Point of Grace singing King of the World. I dance with my daddy to this song at my wedding. It means so much to me and I cannot listen to it without crying.

I made these signs for two teachers that my mother-in-law works with. I am very pleased with how they turned out!

I have a favor to ask... I am trying to create my own Etsy shop. But in order to do so, I need a creative name for my little "business."  If you have any ideas, please let me know! :)
