Busy Weekend

Ello, lovies!
How was your weekend?
If possible, ours was busy and relaxing at the same time!

But...
Monday, I'm less than thrilled that you're here so soon!

Here's the recap:

Friday night, hubs and I went to dinner and came home and caught up on our DVR. It was nice to have a night doing nothing!

Saturday, we slept in. HALLELUJAH!!!
We went to the Farmer's Market and got some goodies!
Those peaches are amazingly delicious!! I plan on making a peach cobbler this week!
And I love fresh okra! Yum!!
We used those blueberries to make blueberry pancakes for breakfast
for dinner Saturday night!

Sunday, we went to church, Sunday school and lunch.
When we got home we did some serious cleaning/organizing/laundry.

Last night I made chocolate chip cookies.
this is the most amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe ever

That may not seem like a busy weekend....
Well... There's one thing I've left out...
We did some serious house hunting this weekend.

After looking at all these amazing rent houses, we had a serious change of heart.
We found a house that we fell in LOVE with.
Only problem, it's not for rent. It's for sale.

So we started doing some math, budgeting, thinking, praying, talking with our families, etc.
And we've made the decision that we're going to look into buying a house!
Now, we very much understand that this is quite a process and we're fully aware that the house we fell in love with may not be for sale once we get to the point that we're ready to make an offer.
But after lots of praying and talking, we think buying may be the best decision for us now!

Here's some houses that we've looked at...
{sorry some of the pictures are blurry}

and one of these beauties belongs to this GLORIOUS kitchen...
{I die...}

Any tips for first time home buyers are welcomed...
And encouraged!

And we wrapped up the weekend watching the season premier of True Blood!
{we love this show, but I really hope this season is better that the last}

Hope your weekend was fabulous! :)

First - love True Blood! I agree... I wasn't crazy about the witches last season. Hopefully this year is better!

Second - buying a house... how exciting!!! We bought our first house in 2009, and my biggest tip for you is to stay within your budget! Find an amount you can/want to pay monthly, and only look at houses that fit within that. We started getting desperate because we couldn't find what we wanted in our price range, and tried to "force" it. Eventually we found OUR house that was actually in our budget, and it all worked out. But there's no sense in making yourself house poor. Figure out a budget and make a list of things you need, and just keep hunting until you find it! :)

and good luck on the house hunting! it can be stressful, but you're doing the right thing by taking your time and most importantly, PRAYING. :)

My fiancé bought a farm and house last spring and we've been making it our "home" ever since. My advice is to be patient and wait until you find exactly what you're looking for. We looked at several places before finding the one... but we knew it when we saw it. It's a big decision so settle for nothing less than all your greatest expectations! :)
