Another Monday.
And a busy one at that.
I've talked about our wedding several times on the ol' blog. But what can I say? It was my favorite day! So I think I'll keep talking about it :)
1. Are you married? If so when did you get married, and tell us about your special day. If not? How would you describe your dream wedding?
Yes! Corby and I just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! We got married on August 7, 2010. And at the risk of sounding cliche, our wedding was the best day of my life. Our wedding was huge. {There were approximately 300 people there} We were married in the church that I grew up in: Central Baptist Church in College Station, Texas. Our day way perfect.

2. Show us some wedding pictures. Either yours or of some that you love.

3. How about the engagement? Tell us your story. If not engaged, what's your dream proposal?
Corby proposed to me on November 28, 2009 at my family's ranch in Mason, Texas. The ranch is one of my favorite places on earth. And now it holds and even bigger place in my heart.

And, yes! We got engaged wearing FULL camo! It was late November in west Texas. We were there to deer hunt for the weekend. And for the record, I shot 2 deer that weekend. :) Our proposal was perfect for us. In my wildest dreams, it couldn't have been more perfect.
Here's some of our engagement pictures.

4. Show us your wedding rings or an engagement photo! If not engaged/married ... show us your "dream" ring.
Corby proposed to me with my grandmother's engagement ring. I've loved this ring since I was a little girl and to now be able to wear it on my finger every day, means the world to me. I also wear her wedding band. Corby had a jeweler create a duplicate of her wedding band, so I would have one "from him, too."

5. Tell us why you think marriage doesn't work out for so many? What can we do to make things last
I know that there are many reasons as to why people end their marriages. And I hope that you don't take what I have to say in a bad way. This is strictly my opinion... I think too many people give up in their marriage. Things get difficult and they just give up. No one ever said it was going to be easy. You're gonna fight and disagree. If you didn't, you wouldn't be human. Marriage is hard work. The word marriage is not a noun. It's a verb. Marriage is something you do. Every.single.day. It's the way you love your spouse.
Good marriages don't just happen. They take time, patience and two people who truly want to be together. And for Corby and I, our marriage is founded on our relationship with Jesus Christ. I pray every day for Corby. My biggest prayer is that he will love Jesus more than he'll ever love me.

While we're on this topic, I'd like to wish my wonderful parents a happy anniversary!
Happy 46 Years!
Thank you for showing me what it means to be married. And for being wonderful examples of marriage being something that's worth fighting for. I love you both so much!
