Maxi Lovin'

Hi ya'll!
It is a disgusting day in north Texas. High of 75, cloudy and super humid. Blah!

Anyhoo... I want to talk about something that I am LOVING for spring.

Maxi skirts/dresses!
Obsessed!

What are your thoughts on the maxi trend?

Weekend Recap

Ahh, Monday... You came too soon...
Again...

This weekend was super lazy {for me at least}

Friday night, Corby and I met two of our good friends {Kally & Nathan} in Colleyville for sushi.
Nathan plays baseball for a living and is leaving Thursday for spring training so we wanted to make sure we were able to spend some time with them before he leaves.

Saturday, Corby worked all day while I painted.
Most of my weekends for the next month will be dedicated to getting ready for my craft show.
I completed 4 more signs. {I'll share them later this week!}

I ordered a necklace from A Cut Above Boutique last week and it came in the mail on Saturday.
I am obsessed!!

Saturday night, Corby and I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse {my favorite},
then went home and snuggled on the couch while catching up on our DVR.

Sunday morning, we went to church and Jon Kitna {former Dallas Cowboys quarterback} spoke. He was phenomenal! He spoke on being bold for Christ. Something I definitely needed to hear.

Sunday afternoon, Corby went back to work.
He worked 86 hours last week. I can't even imagine.
But I'm so proud of him. He's such a hard worker!

While Corby was at work yesterday, I started watching One Tree Hill from the very beginning.
{thank you Netflix}
I forgot how much I loved this show. No clue why I stopped watching!
{i may or may not have watched 7 episodes yesterday}

I am excited that since Corby is home for good, I can start meal planning again. I still won't be cooking every night because some nights he will work until 8 or 9. But I'm planning on cooking 2 nights this week.

On the menu:

Cajun Chicken Pasta - Skinnytaste

Blackened Fish Tacos - MyRecipes
Well that's enough random for today..

Happy Monday!

For Corby...

Happy Friday, ya'll!
Can't even begin to explain how happy I am that today is Friday.
And that I get to see the love of my life tonight!

I want to talk about marriage today.
In a serious way...
{please note, I'm no expert, I'm learning everyday}

I am beyond blessed to be married to my best friend.
Corby is such a sweet gift from above.
He has such a big heart.
I thank God every day for blessing me with a partner in life who is so compassionate, loving, generous, and, most importantly, who loves the Lord!

Sometimes I feel like don't deserve his love.
I know that I'm not always the best wife that I can be. Sometimes our house is messy.
Sometimes I don't feel like cooking dinner.
Sometimes I don't feel like doing the things that I should be doing to take care of him and to make him feel treasured.

I pray every day that God will help me to be the best wife that I can be. That I can be submissive and loving and kind and understanding and patient.
To help me to not be selfish.
I pray that God will help me to be an example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value...
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
   and faithful instruction is on her tongue...
Her children arise and call her blessed;
   her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
   but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
   but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Proverbs 31:11,25-26,28-31

I pray that I will delight in him and he in me. Let me never take him for granted.
Let him take my breath away for years to come.

Marriage is not something you get. It's something you do.
It's the way you love your husband {or wife} every day.
Marriage is learned. It's something you have to practice.

I've learned how important it is to pray for your spouse.
I pray for Corby every day. I pray that God will use him.
That people will see Jesus through him.
I pray that Corby will love Jesus more than he will ever love me.

It's not only important to pray for your spouse, but to pray with your spouse.
{This is something that we need to be better about.}
I want to make our daily goal to have Christ at the center of our marriage.

I chose to write about this today for Corby.
To let him know how much I love him and that I'm his biggest fan.
I wrote this as a commitment for me to be the best wife I can be.

I love you, Corby. You're my heart and my soul.
My life. My best friend. My soul mate.

I loved you yesterday,
I love you still,
always have,
always will.

{sorry if this post is kind of jumbled. my thoughts are all over the place}

Intervention

Why hello there!
For some reason, Blogger would not let me post this morning. Lame.

Thankfully, it's working now. But now my Blogger is set up completely different. So my apologies if this post looks ridiculous.

Before I get into this post... DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY! Today is the last day to enter!!

I'm here to admit that I think I'm in need of an intervention...

I watch too many TV shows... *sigh*
and no, I don't watch Intervention

Don't believe me? Well.. You asked for it...

The Bachelor
The Voice
Smash
Pretty Little Liars {don't judge}
Shameless
CSI: Miami
Parenthood
Dance Moms {again, don't judge}
Last Man Standing
Modern Family
Cougartown
Body of Proof
American Idol
Glee
Revenge
The Challenge: Battle of the Exes
Grey's Anatomy
CSI: NY

I feel like I'm missing some.

Seriously, ya'll. I have a problem. And my DVR has a problem too. It keeps filling up because I can't watch things fast enough! And very rarely can we watch live TV because something is always recording!

Enough of that...

Happy Fat Tuesday!
Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!

In honor of Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, here is a recipe for King Cake that I will be making tonight! I looove King Cake! Yum!

I'll leave you with this...
These photos have been going around Pinterest, Facebook, etc. But I thought this one was funny...
why yes, I do ride my horse to work.
